Parmo RecipeIf you're unfortunate enough to live too far from a Middlesbrough take-away, parmos are very simple to make at home. Try this recipe for an amazing parmo.
Ingredients (enough for one person) 1 Chicken (or pork) fillet 1 egg 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs Bechamel sauce (click here for BBC Good Food sauce recipe) Grated chedder cheese (enough to cover the top of the meat) Method Flatten the meat fillet. Crack the egg into a bowl and beat. Dip the meat into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumbs until covered. Deep fry the breadcrumb covered fillet until golden brown on both sides. Place the fillet onto a grill pan, cover the top in bechamel sauce, then add the cheese and grill until the cheese is bubbling. Serve with chips (and maybe salad if you're feeling guilty). |
Simple Parmo recipeNot quite the same, but a quick, easy recipe for a slightly healthier version of the Parmo.
Take some breaded chicken (like the Bernard Matthews ones you get from the freezer aisle). Cook them as per packet instructions. About 5 minutes before they are done, spread each piece with Bechamel sauce and grated cheese, then carry on cooking. Delicious |
